Five women from Texas known as the “Boot Girls” formed the Boot Ride campaign to show support for our American Troops. The campaign also raises funds to help military funded programing and support the troops’ physical and emotional needs. One way they cultivate awareness is by wearing combat boots in their everyday clothing and holding their annual boot ride campaign.

On Sunday, August 26th, the cast of Sons of Anarchy participated in the 2nd Annual Boot Ride & Rally, the bikers met at the Route 66 Classic Grill in Canyon Country and then traveled south to Hollywood to participate in the rally at Happy Endings Bar & Restaurant.

The cast arrived at Happy Endings for the rally where they participated in a meet and greet and then headed downstairs to the main rally to mingle with fans and sign autographs. The event was topped off with a live concert from the band Blackberry Smoke.

The day was a huge success and without a doubt we have the best fans on the planet! To find out more about the Boot Campaign you can visit them at:

If you could meet anyone dead or alive who would it be and why?  Maggie:  The Buddha.  I think he would be a fun person to hang out with.Maggie Siff

-What attracts you to theater?  Any plans of doing a Broadway musical? Maggie: I would love to do a Broadway musical but it would have to be the right thing. I can sing but I’m not very trained, so the director would have to be looking for an actor-who-can-sing (as opposed to a singer-who-can-act.)  The right Sondheim musical would be amazing.  Meantime, I’m going back to New York in the winter to do another Shakespeare play, Much Ado About Nothing. It will be running from mid-February to mid-April and it’s with a wonderful off-Broadway company, Theatre for a New Audience.

-If there was any character you could play on SOA, who would it be and why?  Maggie: I would be Unser because he is cranky, curmudgeonly, makes a bunch of strange noises and faces, and more importantly, makes me laugh.  Maybe I just want to be Dayton Callie for a day.

-What can audiences expect from Tara this season?                                                                                                  Maggie: She is darker, more violent and has less fear.  She is quicker to react to aggression. She is stepping more confidently into the role of the queen and all that entails.

-Why do you think Tara stays in Charming with Jax and the club?                                                                          Maggie: It’s a love story.  She is in love with this man and it’s the only family she has ever known. The pull of that is stronger than anything she has control over.  It’s certainly stronger than the more rational parts of herself that know better.

-From Twitter @JNehk: Would you say Gemma influenced most of Tara’s mothering style i.e. protecting her young? Maggie: Gemma is her strongest maternal influence. Because Tara is slightly more conscious than Gemma, their styles are different, but I think when push comes to shove Tara has the same fierceness that Gemma does.

-From Twitter @ John_Holzman: What has been the most difficult aspect of Tara that you have had to play? Maggie: The most emotionally challenging part of Tara’s journey has been losing her gift as a surgeon.

-From Twitter @AllGraysAnatomy: Do you ever want to explore Tara’s family on screen?  Are you curious? Maggie: I’m really curious. I have my own ideas about it. I think it’s not been written into the scripts because the relevant reality is that Tara is an orphan, her parents are gone, and that’s really critical to the way she adopts this family as her own. But I would be very excited if Kurt ever wanted to explore that more.

-From Twitter @jenndeve: After SOA any thoughts of doing any Broadway shows…i.e. WICKED!? Maggie: Ha.  I recently saw Wicked and thought it was fantastic but I don’t think I can hit those high notes.

-From Twitter @GregEny: What scares the beejesus out of you? Hollywood bullshit, the thought of never working again, and crazy people with guns

-Favorite Shakespearean play?   Hamlet.  I want to play Hamlet someday.  Not Ophelia.

-Favorite book? So I read a lot.  Probably my favorite contemporary novel is “Cloud Atlas” by this fantastic writer, David Mitchell.  But I have to confess that I am a huge Jane Austen fan and I have read all of her novels multiple times.  I hope the guys don’t read this because they’ll tease me mercilessly for it.

-Favorite movie? “The Natural.”  I love baseball movies.  My dad was a sports writer when I was growing up so I fall for those stories.

- Favorite SOA moment? Donna’s funeral was a great SOA moment.  I love all the ceremonial scenes when all the bikes roll up together in solidarity.  That was a beautiful anthemic moment.

-Favorite Tara moment sans Season 5?: Punching Margaret was a good moment and  a real turning point for the character, Tara grew some proverbial balls.
